It's a slippery slope; one day you're surfing wondering why you're cold and exhausted, whilst the surfer next to you is still pumped. Then you notice the wetsuit, "hey, what's that wetsuit you're wearing?".
The majority of our new customers come from discussions in the surf. The fact is, ISURUS wetsuits should come with a warning, once you've started, there's no going back.
Before you know it, every wetsuit in your quiver is ISURUS.
Grant Twiggy Baker tells it like it is:
“Yea, the Isurus wetsuits are that good. My advice about them would be: Don’t buy one. Because once you do, you can’t go back. There is nothing else you can wear. They are that good. We catch a lot of people. Once they get their first Isurus wetsuit they are hooked for life. They really can’t go back.”

Joe Coury covers off a lot of the benefits of ISURUS wetsuits in his own unique style of delivery. He's talking about the 2.2 Zipfree Long Sleeve, but the points apply to every ISURUS wetsuit:
Finishing a session early because you're cold is no way to paddle back in. ISURUS wetsuits are widely regarded as the warmest wetsuits on the market. From the 1.5mm wetsuit top to the 6.5 Ti Alpha, there are no conditions on earth that are too cold for our wetsuits.
Many ISURUS surfers discover they can wear 1mm less Neoprene thickness compared to a mass-market brand, but it does depend on a number of factors. You can take this quiz to better understand if it's a good idea to try surfing 1mm thinner in an ISURUS wetsuit.
There are a few key reasons that an ISURUS wetsuit helps you stay warmer for longer sessions:
Material Selection: Using Yamamoto Limestone Neoprene as our core material has many benefits. Click here to get more information on materials.
Wetsuit Design: Less seams and more material means less water ingress and easier padding (which keeps you warm). Read more about the design here.
Water Absorption of only 2%:The combination of materials and design results in a wetsuit that hardly takes on any water. Other wetsuits absorb double their weight in water, this vastly increases heat loss and makes you colder, faster.
This is Jade Morgan with his perspective on warm ISURUS wetsuits:
SHOP WETSUITS NOWNobody wants a wetsuit that paddles like someone is tugging your leash and weighs you down when you want to pop-up. Most surfers don't appreciate that it doesn't need to be like this! That water-logged, heavy wetsuit is a result of bad design decisions taken at a corporate HQ with more marketing dollars than surfing sense.
We don't have the big bucks to burn, so we rely on actual science and test pilots to develop our wetsuits.
ISURUS wetsuits stay light because the materials we use absorb hardly any water (only 2% of their weight). This is thanks to the "closed-cell" technology in Yamamoto Limestone Neoprene.
The image below shows the difference between Yamamoto Limestone Neoprene and Oil-based Neoprene under the microscope to the size of a human hair width. The illustrations show what is happening at a microscopic level:

The cells are much larger and often interconnected, this means that when water enters it gets trapped deeper into the material. So your wetsuit feels much heavier when surfing and takes a lot longer to dry out.

A much higher volume of smaller, independent cells filled with nitrogen acts a barrier to the water. These bubbles conduct heat 24 times worse than water, keeping you warmer.
Let's face it, perhaps we should call it "paddling" instead of "surfing". The amount of time we spend getting into position to catch waves compared to actually surfing is not worth measuring.
It's no surprise that "ease of paddling" is one of the major reasons that surfers rate ISURUS wetsuits so high. If you can paddle faster and longer, then you're going to get more waves and surf to a higher level.
You know by now that ISURUS wetsuits are light and flexible - these attributes help enormously when paddling.
However, there are additional factors at work which improve your ability to paddle when you are surfing in an ISURUS wetsuit:

Regular wetsuits are designed in the resting position, but ISURUS wetsuits use a fabric "pattern" primed for action. With the cut optimised for “arms up” position, our wetsuits are far more comfortable when you paddle and support your arms in an extended position.

Compression garments improve blood flow and aid recovery. The combination of materials in our wetsuits support your muscles and give you an extra boost when you need it. There's a reason professional athletes in all sports use them at an elite level for maximum performance.
From the combinations of fabrics to the glue on our seams, ISURUS wetsuits are built to last. There's no "planned obsolescence" - we appreciate you are paying top dollar, and you deserve a product that goes the distance.
It goes without saying that you need to take great care of your wetsuit (here are some tips) - but our wetsuits are built to last. For us, it's impossible to separate the customer-centric benefits from the environmental benefits.
There is simply no point in having an "environmentally friendly" wetsuit for the sake of it. ISURUS wetsuits are designed to inspire you to go surfing, and to last many seasons.
We've carried out a very basic Life Cycle Assessment, and it supports our philosophy that the wetsuit which stays out of landfill the longest is the best for the environment. This analysis also shows that if you really care about the environment then there are hundreds of other lifestyle considerations that can come before your choice of wetsuit.
Nevertheless, thanks to the incredible structural properties of our core materials at a cellular level, ISURUS wetsuits retain their shape better than any other brand. This means less flushing and a longer life for your favourite wetsuit.

Some of our wetsuits have been put through their paces for 6 or 7 seasons by professional surfers and are still going strong!
This clip featuring river surfer KB Brown shows genuine surprise at how long his wetsuit has lasted. If you think river surfing has less impact on your wetsuit than ocean surfing then you need to watch some more river surfing action!
