At Isurus, our passion is to build world-class wetsuits that stand up to the harshest conditions the ocean might offer.

Living and surfing in and along the California coast, a frequent topic of conversation was just how much wetsuit innovation had stagnated and quality had deteriorated. It is about designing a wetsuit that improves surfer performance. Click for more about Isurus wetsuits.

      The “Perfect Glove"

"These 5mm 5 finger gloves are the perfect cold water glove. They are comfortable, durable, ergonomic design , and above all warm without the bulk of mittens or lobster claws. With water temps in low 30’s these gloves are the perfect compliment to my 5/4 Ti Alpha full suit. Plus they are a piece of cake to get on and off. Just remember they run small so get the next size up. ."

      Small for size

"Super well made. Definitely small for the size. Ordered a large as this is historically what I am across the board for surf mitts. Wow these were small for a large. Size up and you’ll be good. Still going to use my small large gloves as I don’t want the hassle of returning anything and I hope they will stretch."

"Well built glove, to small for my big hands. I would need a 2XL which they don’t make."

      Perfect for New England Winters

"Warmest five finger gloves I have ever owned. Wore them every session this past winter surfing in New England. Now Isurus just needs to create a 5mm or 7mm boot to compliment their superior wetsuits and gloves."

      Best Winter Glove

"Best winter gloves hands down. If you are on the fence about buying these don't be. NJ winter surfer here and 5 mil are super warm."

      5 mm gloves

"Last about an hour before getting cold, 40 degree air and water"

"I really like these gloves. I’ve not been cold once all winter with these and a 5/3. The only thing I noticed is when these are damp/wet I have a hard time getting them on and adjusted right. Once I get warm and moving they seem to slide into place. A slicker inside lining on the top May help them slide on better."

The only wetsuit glove that keeps my hands warm swimming in PNW winter water.

"I open water swim year round in the Puget Sound and Lake Washington and my hands have always been the part that suffers the most in the sub-50 winter water temps. 30 minutes+ of front crawl puts an absurd amount of pressure on the rubber around the hand vs any other part of wetsuit rubber that always ends up in soaked rubber and and a convection heatpipe through the glove, freezing the hands. I've previously gone through literally every OWS branded glove and the warmest was the Z3 heat-tech with 3.5mm yamamato 38 and single layer titanium lining, but it still soaks through and is immediately very cold when doing so. Other scuba/surfing 5mm gloves were even worse than Z3 3.5mm, and any thicker was just too uncomfortable to freestyle in. Enter the 3mm and 5mm Isurus gloves, utilizing Yamamato's new TI-Alpha double titanium lined + zirconium setup. Now these are finally warm enough to remain comfortable. The 3mm still start soaking through at around 30 minutes front crawl, but somehow, in comparison to the Z3 heat-tech, they still keep the hands decently warm. It is the strangest sensation, where I can feel the distinctive "pulse" feeling of the cold water soaking through the rubber on every stroke, but somehow the double titanium + zirconium keeps the convection at bay and my hands relatively warm in a way that all other thermal liners I've tried don't. My best guess is the Ti-Alpha is finally actually good enough to bring the whole "NASA spacesuit" infrared radiation reflection trick that's been around for years in wetsuits from a gimmick to to an actually useful level; when I take off the gloves I note that the inner liner itself still feels warm and evidently is capturing a decent chunk of body heat in spite of the rubber losing most of the insulation after soaking. Now the 5mm are a solid improvement on soaking vs the 3mm, taking around 50 minutes front crawl to begin soaking, which is more than enough for my swimming needs. With the Yamamto 40 flexibility they are still super conformable for 5mm, and meet all my needs to totally keep my hands 100% warm. My only complaint is that Isurus needs to make more of them and take my money! I had to get a size larger than ideal as they sold out quickly in their introductory season. Looking forwards to next season and getting them in the perfect size and having the perfect cold water glove."
