| Â Multi-Density Wetsuits: | Â Single Density Wetsuits: |
| Built with thicker cores + thinner limbs (3/2, 4/3, etc.) | Designed with a single material thickness throughout the wetsuit |
| This is a historical throwback to inflexible fabrics and limited innovation | Uses innovative new design and material technology |
| Can result in buying more wetsuit combinations than required | Results in wetsuits that can be used for longer periods throughout the year |
With a single-density 3:3 wetsuit you can surf in both 3:2 and 4:3 conditions.
You get the warmth of a 4:3 wetsuit but the flexibility of a 3mm. Whether you choose a zip-free or chest zip, single-density gives you a longer season from a single wetsuit.
Get one great wetsuit instead of multiple poor quality ones. Buy well, buy once.
When surfers first starting wearing wetsuits, the material technology didn't exist to provide both warmth and flexibility (click here to understand the science). The design concept being that that to surf comfortably in colder conditions required a 3mm core in the body, but 2mm in the arms and legs to improve flexibility.
So the 3:2 was crowned king of the wetsuits and never questioned (read a brief history). Commercially, this was great news for mass-market brands - if you wanted to surf in colder conditions you would also need a 4:3. So they were selling you two sub-standard wetsuits instead of one that did the job
ISURUS have continued to innovate in material science and it is now possible to deliver both improved warmth and flexibility.
We achieve this by mixing different versions of Yamamoto Limestone Neoprene
SHOW ME SINGLE DENSITY WETSUITSTwo of our most reviewed (and best-selling) wetsuits are single-density & zip free. Combining smart design and innovations in material science, we build wetsuits that surfers love. They stay warm for longer, paddle without restriction and genuinely appreciate ISURUS wetsuits. That's why 80% of our customers come from other surfers recommending ISURUS wetsuits!

Customer Reviews:
"Hands down best suit I have ever owned, bit skeptical about zip free but no worries at all getting on and off easier than my other chest zips that I own."
"The Isurus Wetsuit is the best on the Market ! The Suit is warm , flexible, lightweight, quick drying and on top of all that the suits last more than one season! I honestly feel like the suit enables me to surf longer sessions."

Customer Reviews:
"Best wetsuit by far I’ve ever worn. The zip free option is easy to get in and out of and provides a level of stretch that cannot be achieved with a zippered suit. Water in our wavepool was 51* today and I was sweating in this 2/2. Pretty unreal."
"Because of the construction of the wetsuit, I am able to use a thinner wetsuit and stay warm all winter. Helps tons with paddling and flexibility."
Most surfers would agree that you want to be wearing the thinnest, most flexible wetsuit possible - but stay warm enough to never leave a session early. Fundamentally, if the temperature is warm enough to wear 2mm in your arms, then it should be fine for your core, and if you need 3mm core heat, then providing this to your arms and legs is logical.
We believe that defaulting to selling multi-density wetsuits because "that's how it's always been done" is a cop out. We've proven the material technology exists to create better wetsuits - so we're moving more of our range in that direction.
If you want to get into more detail about how we manage to create such warm and flexible wetsuits without resorting to multi-density wetsuits then we're here for you!
We've laid out the history of multi-density and the innovations that we've employed to ensure an incredible surfing experience in a blog article:
LEARN MORESurfers paying attention will note that we do sell multi-density wetsuits at ISURUS, and there are a couple of reasons.
Firstly, that's how a lot of surfers are used to buying their wetsuits. We're on a mission to educate, but we realise this is a long game!
Secondly, the material science is not there for thicker wetsuit materials - so as you reach temperatures requiring a 5mm core, 4mm legs and arms still makes sense.
However, in 2026 we introduced a limited run of the Ti-Shield 3.3wetsuit with titanium lining. The feedback has been resounding - this is warmer than our 4.3 Evade. We continue to innovate and make the best surfing wetsuits on the planet.
Are you ready for ISURUS?
Years of innovation, experience (and a few mishaps) have resulted in a wetsuit that is beyond compare in terms of comfort and performance.
It's an industry secret, but a lot of surfers sponsored by mass-produced brands wear ISURUS wetsuits when they can!
These are some of the magic ingredients that go into our wetsuits:

Limestone Neoprene from Yamamoto contains a much higher percentage of air content than regular Neoprene. This makes it superior in every way: More flexible, lighter, more durable, and warmer.

Regular wetsuits are designed in the resting position, but ISURUS wetsuits use a fabric "pattern" primed for action. With the cut optimised for “arms up” position, our wetsuits are far more comfortable when you paddle (i.e. all the time!).

Compression garments improve blood flow and aid recovery. Professional athletes in all sports use them at an elite level for maximum performance. It is long overdue for surfing, and we are leading the charge!
