Neoprene That's Warm Enough To Stop Fish Freezing

If you've ever wondered how much protection Yamamoto #39 Limestone Neoprene provides from cold water conditions, then Yamamoto have shot an insightful video of a test they carried out that illustrates the thermal protection this material gives you in the water.

They used a Yamamoto #39 Neoprene divider in a fish tank and filled one side with frozen water and ice, and the other with an aquascape including live fish! They then connected temperature monitors to each side so you can see the difference in temperature over time and understand just how much thermal insulation the material is providing.

It's definitely worth a watch! You can see the video below, and our explanation as to what's going on inside the material at a cellular level to make it so warm.  You can use this link to view it direct on YouTube.

(This test was carried out without fish beforehand to ensure their safety.)

So how does the Yamamoto Limestone Neoprene resist the cold so effectively and remain so flexible?

We call it the ISURUS Wetsuit Paradox and you can Read more about that here
