John Mel is a competitive WSL athlete and big wave surfer hailing from Santa Cruz, California.

As the third generation in a family with deep surfing roots, he carries on a rich legacy of wave riding.

With ambitions of conquering the giants at Mavericks and qualifying for the World Tour, John is dedicated to pushing the boundaries of his sport and continuing the tradition of excellence.
