Evade 2. 2 Chest Zip Wetsuit
"Quality, comfort, flexible and warm says it all. Worth paying for quality."

The 2.2 chest zip wetsuit from the Isurus Evade range. Traditional 3.2 warmth in a 2 mm wetsuit.
A 2.2 chest zip wetsuit that can take you well into colder water temps. Like its brethren, the Evade 3.2 chest zip, the wetsuit fits like a “second skin” and paddles with virtually “Zero Restriction”. Ultra lightweight and extremely flexible.
At only 2 mm thickness, the Evade 2.2 wetsuit has warmth comparable to traditional 3 mm wetsuits. Now with a strategic combination of Yamamoto #40 and #39, to reduce weight, enhance compression, improve seal. It is 25% stretchier in the Arms, Shoulders, and neck to make paddling less restrictive. The “Arms Up” design, virtually eliminating shoulder restriction. You don’t tire as fast.

The main ingredient is Japanese limestone, which is advantageous in environmental and quality aspects.

Oxidation-resistant plant oil is friendly to people and the Earth. It makes rubber soft and flexible.

I've been fortunate enough to have used a lot of wetsuits. Beginning with the O'neill beavertail through the stiff fullsuits of the late 20th century, up to the present time. Many suits have their gimmicks: quick dry, neck gators, tight wrist and ankle cuffs, but they're still the same ill-fitting, moderately flexible suit.
Then a quantum leap occurred.
Isurus created a surgical glove
It's also exceptionally warm, with the flexibility in the shoulder and hips where it's needed.
As the Orthopedic Surgeon for the ASP/WSL for the last 25 years, I've seen a multitude of injuries from tight, poor fitting suits. The cut and stitch pattern is superb to allow exceptional flexibility through the shoulders. This decreases the risk of impingement syndrome and rotator cuff damage. The zipper less entry and exit is also very flexible around the shoulder which also decreases the risk of rotator cuff or labral damage.
I have also experienced myself the low back stiffness that occurs with a poorly fit wetsuit that allows low back chill. Even though the Shield is only a 2/2, the stitch and paneling is done to maximize fit with optimal warmth to the low back area.
Spend a little bit more on this fabulous suit rather than in my office with your shoulder pain. Buying quality never goes out of style. I rarely give testimonials, but I believe in Isurus wetsuits.
I don’t do surgery in garden gloves.
You shouldn’t surf in a suboptimal wetsuit

At Isurus, our passion is to build world-class wetsuits that stand up to the harshest conditions the ocean might offer.
Living and surfing in and along the California coast, a frequent topic of conversation was just how much wetsuit innovation had stagnated and quality had deteriorated. It is about designing a wetsuit that improves surfer performance. Click for more about Isurus wetsuits.

"I own (5) Isurus suits currently and am overly impressed with all of them Great fit (a little hard to get on the first couple times), warmest suits I’ve found so far, I love the Compression feature of them and the very low absorption aspect of the neoprene and water. I will definitely be adding the New Shorty to the bunch when it releases Customer service is awesome and always ready to assist with questions and concerns but I have had no issues with any of them yet Thanks for such good quality, craftsmanship and customer support Todd Doyle"
"Got the 2/2 chest zip. I have wanted about five times in 62° water and it is absolutely as warm as a 3/2 wetsuit. The chess portion pulls down a little bit on the shoulders, but doesn’t impair your ability to paddle. The shoulders are super flexible and I absolutely love it. I’m starting to get a little bit of flushing in the suit on close outs and the “compression” nature of the suit makes it difficult to get the water out. My biggest complaint is the right shoulder, where the zipper attaches. When putting on the wetsuit, the zipper scrapes against the skin and can be uncomfortable. Also, it’s difficult to get the right shoulder out of this wetsuit after a surf, so I recommend if you have any right shoulder problems that you look for a different suit. I do want to try the zip free suit, I’ve heard there’s been lots of improvements in the neck area to prevent flushing. overall, I recommend the suit. It’s warm, comfortable and durable. I have very little to no shoulder fatigue, but you do feel the chest portion pulling down a little bit around the top of the shoulders. I do like the compression nature of this suit as well!"
"I like the suit and it’s very warm, but it’s really tight and feels too small."
"I’ve been surfing for over 40 years and worn every mainstream wetsuit out there. Most are okay—some are all hype and high price. ISURUS is SUPERIOR- this suit moves clean, doesn’t bind, and stays warm without feeling bulky. You forget it’s even there! As a testament to the quality- a suit I owned for over 4 years and probably logged 200+ sessions (ya it already had miles on it… ) fell out of my truck on the way to a sesh… just outside the San Diego airport and got run over by 100+ cars! Inside out, dragged through traffic, covered in grime—I thought it was done. It wasn’t. The outer layer held. I shook it off, flipped it back, and went surfing. Waves were firing, and that’s all that mattered. The ISURUS Crew is CORE. Not a box company—you talk to the people who make the gear. No logos. No marketing. Just gear that works. Stop debating it- get an ISURUS! THE ONLY REGRET YOU’LL HAVE IS NOT HAVE GOTTEN ONE SOONER!"
"It's my third isirus suit. Super light, flexible and very high quality. Even on my 2-year-old suit the seams are still intact and water tight. My experience with big brand suits are that seems and sealing start giving up after 10 surfs. Very happy with my suits and I’ll never ever buy big brands again. Now please, find some dealers in Europe"
"LOVE this suit!! Super warm, light, and flexible!! Best suit I’ve ever owned!! I’m an Isurus customer for life!!"
"Great suit, terrible Customer Service. I bought the wrong size and wanted to do a return, but the Customer Service team never responded to my multiple emails / return requests"
"I bought the 2/2 to replace my 3/3 that I use in NorCal (Santa Cruz and HMB). They didn’t do me wrong, definitely as warm as my 3/3. The quality is pretty impressive too, this is a really well made suit. Would definitely recommend."
"Not being young anymore it is fantastic to find a suit that not only keeps me toasted but assists my muscles. Long sessions no worries and so easy to paddle in. Suffered a broken biceps so the muscle support does offer me a sense of security which I love. Don't wear the brace anymore. Thanks Isurus."
